Writer Nick Spencer (Morning Glories) has confirmed that he has signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Comics. Spencer posted the news on Twitter and quickly followed up with a notice to the effect that “This does NOT affect my creator-owned work, or my work on T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents.”

Spencer is now writing Iron Man 2.0 for Marvel and will soon takeover Secret Avengers. He is best known for his work at Image, in particular for Morning Glories, a mysterious Lost-like series set at a boarding school that is anything but what it seems. The first trade paperback collection of Morning Glories, which includes the first six issues, was the #2 bestselling graphic novel in the direct market in February (see “Comics Level Off in February”).
