ADV Films, one of the nation's leading anime producers, announced a licensing agreement with Ontario-based comic book production company Dreamwave Productions, which will enable Dreamwave to create certain licensed collectible merchandise items based on ADV films.  The first product announced is a four-color poster featuring characters and art from the ADV title, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040.  While the design for the first litho is in the works, no date for the release of the first print has been set yet.

In addition to producing English language versions of anime as well as video versions of live-action series like Farscape, ADV Films is also publishing the American edition of Newtype, Japan's leading anime magazine (see 'Newtype in English').  ADV's licensee in this new venture, Dreamwave Productions, skyrocketed to fame on the success of its Transformers comic, which became the first title from a publisher out of the Big Four to top Diamond's monthly list of comic book advance orders.
