Dean Phillips of Krypton Comics in Omaha, Nebraska had a successful Free Comic Book Day and shares the highlights of the event.
Free Comic Book Day here at Krypton Comics was a great success! We gave away thousands of comics and had record setting sales for the day.
Helen Slater (Supergirl from Smallville) was our special guest and she sure signed a bunch of autographs. Ms. Slater brought in a lot of families, and was a favorite of young ladies. Local and regional artists donated their talents and sore hands doing hundreds of sketches! The Star Wars Stormtroopers of the central garrison of the 501st showed up and kept the peace. Other customers dressed up as superheroes and really made the day special. We set new attendance and sales records, but most importantly we gave many people their first comics!
