IDW has announced the return of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to comics will feature a creative team led by original TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, who will be writing the new series along with co-writer Tom Waltz (Silent Hill: Past Life, Infestation: Outbreak).  Dan Duncan will provide the interior art, while Sam Kieth and Walter Simonson are creating the covers for issue #1 and #2 respectively. The new TMNT comic series debuts in August (see “IDW Does Marvel, TMNT, Anne Rice”).

 

The new TMNT comic will feature new stories in which the four “heroes in the half-shell” bring their ninja aptitudes and teenage attitudes to bear on a series of all new action-packed adventures. The first story arc features a new villain, the ferocious mutant alley cat Old Hob.

 

A new CGI TMNT animated series debuts on Nickelodeon later this year (see “New TMNT Toon in Q4 2012”).
