New York Comic Con News—At the New York Comic Con Dark Horse Comics announced that Brian Wood (DMZ, DEMO, Northlanders) and Becky Cloonan (DEMO) will adapt Robert E. Howard’s “Queen of the Black Coast.” Cloonan and Wood previously worked together on DEMO and Channel Zero.  Their comic book version of “Queen of the Black Coast” will debut from Dark Horse in February after the conclusion of the Roy Thomas-written Conan, Road of Kings.

Story Debuted in 1934
“Queen of the Black Coast” is a rollicking tale chronicling Conan's career as a pirate plundering the coast in the company of the notorious pirate and femme fatale, Queen Belit.  Howard’s classic short story appeared in Weird Tales in 1934. “Queen of the Black Coast’s” romantic elements and epic scope make it one of the most popular elements of the Conan canon.  The prospect of Wood and Cloonan tackling this classic tale is certainly good news for Conan fans.
