AMC has released a video from the set where Season 3 of The Walking Dead is being shot, with comments from actors playing major characters, executive producer Gale Ann Hurd, and others. A fair amount is revealed about the new season. Hurd tells us that Ernest Dickerson will direct at least the first episode (he directed the season finale of Season 2, among others), and that the group ends up at the prison glimpsed at the end of Season 2.
Laurie Holden tells us that there will be the "…introduction of new characters, some announced, some not."
Andrew Lincoln follows up by letting us know that there are "…samurai-wielding characters that are turning up," and that "The pace of it is darker, harder, faster, deeper."
Several of the actors comment on the number of zombie kills, apparently at close range. Lauren Cohan says, pointing to her blood-drenched costume, "As you can see, it’s gonna get messy."
