Yu-Gi-Oh! collectible card game publisher Konami Digital Entertainment revealed some details about upcoming releases for the game at Comic-Con. This summer, the company will release Return of the Duelist, featuring the power of prophecy, while the fourth quarter will see the water-themed Realm of the Sea Emperor and the next card set, Abyss Rising. Konami Vice President of Card Business Yumi Hoashi shared some details with ICv2.
The summer booster set will be Return of the Duelist, which will be available starting from August 28, following a Sneak Peak Weekend during the Gen Con game fair. The theme for this set is Prophecy: a new kind of spellcaster and the Spellbooks that give them power. This set will include 100 different cards, including 8 Secret Rare, 10 Ultra Rare, 14 Super Rare, 20 Rare, and 48 Common cards. The suggested retail price will be $3.99 per pack.
A Return of the Duelist Special Edition will also be available. This boxed set includes three Return of the Duelist boosters along with one of two different Super Rare variant cards.
On October 16 Konami will release the Roar of the Sea Emperor Structure Deck. This ready-to-play deck features the water-based themes that will be the defining style for the next card set. Hoashi explained, "It’s the first time that we’ve done a Structure Deck based on a water theme. It actually works really well with Abyss Rising, which is our next booster release. This also has a lot of cards with a water theme as well."
Abyss Rising is scheduled to release on November 13. There will be 100 different cards in the set, which will be available as Booster Packs and as a Special Edition multi-pack set. The Special Edition will launch December 11.
Other releases for Yu-Gi-Oh! this fall include tins and deck boxes (see "'Yu-Gi-Oh! Tins' and 'Deck Boxes'"), as well as the new Legendary Collection (see "'Yu-Gi-Oh! Legendary Collection 3'").
