As his popular series The Boys ends with its seventy-second issue, Dynamite Entertainment is bringing back Garth Ennis’ Battlefields for its third and final miniseries, Tankies, which will be illustrated by Carlos Ezquerra and will launch in November.  The World War II war comic follows the adventures of an inexperienced British tank crew of Londoners in a Churchill Tank, who battle Nazi forces with their advanced Tiger tanks as the allies move out from their Normandy beachheads.

 

Ennis is one of the most skilled of contemporary comic book writers working in the once dominant genre (the 1940s) of military-themed comics. He clearly relishes the material and has done his homework and research.  Gary (Miracleman) Leach is providing the cover to the first issue of the new Battlefields series from Dynamite, which is due in November.
