Left Field Ink, Inc., a design and printing firm with over 10 years experience in the entertainment and consumer products industry, is forming a new subsidiary, Angel Gate, which will focus on children's and young adult entertainment.  Debbie Bishop, the writer of the Black Tide comic series (published by Image), is the head of the new Angel Gate publishing house, and the first book published under the new imprint will be a young adult novel, Black Tide Rising: Enter the Game, which is based on the science fantasy comic book series authored by Ms. Bishop.  Enter the Game, which is due to be published in late Spring 2003, features stories set in the teen years of the Black Tide's chief protagonists, Justin, Kaila, and Theros.  The paperback volume carries a cover price of $7.95. Diamond's Book Distribution division will handle distributing the Angel Gate books to the mainstream book trade.

Angel Gate will also take over the publication of the Black Tide comic series from Image starting with issue #5 in April, a special issue, penciled and inked by guest artist Norm Breyfogle, which kicks off an all new story arc involving many of the conflicts and technologies in today's headlines.
