The world of spies created by John Le Carré will come to comics in November when Dark Horse Comics launches the three-issue series John Le Carré: The Circus—Losing Control, by writer Matt Kindt and artist Ibrahim Moustafa.  The original story is set in the world of Le Carré’s spy novels, which feature a spy agency called The Circus whose head is known only as Control, and was developed in association with Le Carré’s family’s production company, The Ink Factory.  In the series, which is set in the present day, Control disappears and only his assistant, Maggie, knows that he is gone. As the only person who knows all his protocols, passwords, and personnel, she is left dealing with the outing of a mole in Moscow while trying to figure out where Control has gone and whether or not it’s a problem.  Dark Horse will publish the first issue on November 19, 2025.

“I wasn’t looking for this job but I was called into service,” Kindt said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “And much like Smiley, my heart is in the right place and hopefully that will be enough.”

Kindt is also writing the sci-fi series Space Scouts (see "Matt Kindt, David Rubín Team Up for 'Space Scouts'").
