Viz Media has announced a line of original graphic novels based on the multi-media Monsuno property that includes a popular kids’ TV series and a trading card game released in the U.S. by Topps.  Viz Media’s line of Monsuno graphic novels will debut in late spring of 2013 with Monsuno Volume 1 written by Brian Smith with art by Erwin Prasetya.  The Monsuno graphic novels will be rated "A" for "all ages," and will sport an MSRP of $7.99.

Like the animated series that appears on Nicktoons, the Monsuno graphic novels will follow the adventures of Chase Suno and his friends as they search for Chase’s father and discover the power of Monsuno that allows them to control 15-foot tall hybridized monsters.  The first graphic novel volume introduces a major new villain to the Monsuno universe.

The various companies behind the Monsuno property sponsored a Mall tour last spring to introduce the property (see "'Monsuno' Monster Power Tour"), and Topps has implemented a major organized play program for its Monsuno TCG (see "Topps Outlines 'Monsuno' Organized Play Program"), and the Monsuno TCG made ICv2’s Top 5 Mass Channel Collectible Games Chart for the Spring of 2012 (see "Top Collectible Games--Spring 2012").
