The Media Research Center, a non-profit devoted to "neutralizing left-wing bias in the news media and popular culture" has taken a shot at Marvel and DC, who it says "aggressively push [a] homosexual agenda."

"Comic books have increasingly included pro-gay propaganda pieces aimed at the children and young adults who read them," it said.  The Center’s piece lists a number of the Marvel and DC storylines that have featured gay characters, and the recent appearance of a transgender character in Batgirl (see "DC Reveals First Transgender Character"), arguing that their number has been increasing in recent years.  Archie is also brought in for some criticism, for its gay character, gay wedding, the appearance of George Takei and his partner in a storyline, and the upcoming appearance of "characters from the uber-gay tv show Glee."

The article also notes the protests over Orson Scott Card’s work on the digital first Adventures of Superman anthology (see "Gay Organizations Protest DC's Hiring of Orson Scott Card"), arguing that "...defenders of traditional marriage are cast as villains every bit as evil as the Joker or Lex Luther [sic]."
