Warner Bros. has shuffled the dates for two 2014 films: the 300 sequel and All You Need Is Kill. 300: Rise of an Empire is moving from August 2, 2013 to March 7, 2014, a similar release date to the first film’s. Light publicity efforts had already begun (see "First Poster for '300' Sequel"). Dark Horse has not yet scheduled the release of Frank Miller’s comic on which the sequel is ostensibly based.
The August 2nd weekend will now only have three comic-based premieres (Red 2, 2 Guns, and Smurfs 2) instead of four.
In the second move, Warners is shifting All You Need Is Kill (see "'All You Need Is Kill' Shooting Disrupts Traffic") from March 7th to a summer tentpole date of June 6, 2014. All You Need is Kill is based on the Viz Media light novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.
