Ilan Strasser of Fat Moose Comics in Whippany, New Jersey sent us these comments on Wonder Woman #190 (see 'Wonder Woman's New Do Boffo'), CGE overprints, and the number of #1s:

I was very disappointed with DC's decision to not reprint Wonder Woman #190.  I don't need a whole lot more, but not having the 190's may mean that several buyers will opt out of the rest of the storyline.  At least three people I'd never seen before walked in looking for that book, so per the common wisdom, I can probably kiss them goodbye.  Unfortunately, I upped orders for the rest of the series by 40%, so time will tell if I get stuck with those.

In a similar vein, what happened to CrossGen's promise to keep recent books readily available?  I opted not to join CGE's special retailer program because I don't sell many of the books off the rack; my CGE books are sold almost completely through my reserve service.  But recent efforts I've made to get an extra issue or two were unsuccessful and so, I'm left wondering if CGE will totally adopt Marvel's no-reprint policy?

I am flummoxed by the quantity of new books being offered these days.  It seems that CrossGen and Image are new book addicted and Marvel is not far behind.  DC also has quite a number of new series beginning (or begun), but not in numbers comparable on a percentage basis to the other Big 3.  I've extended my new comics racks by 25 square feet as part of my FCBD improvement program.  Now it's beginning to look like I would have had to increase the area either way!!!   If you consider the price increases coming around along with the gush of new material, we may see a drop in new comic sales as consumers don't know what to get or how to afford it all.
