The characters Kevin Keller and Cheryl Blossom will appear in the upcoming Archie live action movie (see "Archie Movie Set"), according to an interview with screenwriter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa in the LA Times. Aguirre-Sacasa described the plot as "Archie’s coming-of-age story" and dispelled any idea that the film will feature a zombie storyline connected to his Afterlife with Archie arc for the comic publisher. "The movie and this series are completely separate entities," Aguirre-Sacassa said.
It sounds more like a classic Archie story. "Hopefully, it will be the 'Archie' movie people have been anticipating for 70-plus years," he said.
