Comic-Con News: At Comic-Con, NECA and 4K Media showed off samples of the product offerings planned for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game merchandise line. The first set of releases is planned to launch worldwide, excluding Asia, later this summer.
Most prominent were the 3 3/4″ scale Diorama figures: Dark Magician, Blue Eyes White Dragon, and Kuriboh (pictured here). NECA has also previewed several pin sets, key chains, and a 2014 wall calendar on their website. They also have a 'dynamic card wallet' in the works, which fans helped design via website voting earlier this year.
“We’re excited to be able to extend the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand through this appealing new collection from NECA,” says Jennifer Coleman, vice president, licensing and marketing, 4K Media. “It’s an important element in the resurgence of the brand and one we know will get both our fans and retailers excited, too.”
Back in March, NECA was the first to acquire a license from 4K Media Inc. to produce collectibles and accessories based on Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG artwork ( see "'Yu-Gi-Oh!' Collectibles and Accessories"). NECA plans to release action figures, collectible replicas, collectible miniatures games, board games, puzzles, apparel, jewelry and accessories featuring some of the most well-known monsters from the trading card game.
