FX has placed a 13-episode order for a series based on Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain, according to Variety. The show had been in development at FX since last year (see "FX Developing TV Series Based on Del Toro's 'The Strain'"). Lost producer Carlton Cruse will be showrunner and writer on the series. Corey Stoll (House of Cards) will star, with Mia Maestro (Alias), Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings), and Kevin Durand (Lost).
