Twentieth Century Fox has released the first trailer for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Caesar, the super-intelligent chimp, opposite Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Judy Greer and Keri Russell (see "'POTA' Casting").
In the movie, a growing nation of genetically evolved apes, led by Caesar, is threatened by a band of humans who survived the devastating virus unleashed a decade ago. They reach a fragile peace, but both sides are brought to the brink of war in a battle will determine the dominant species of the planet.
BOOM! Studios has the comics license (see "Top 300 Graphic Novels Actual--November 2013").
Rise of the Planet of the Apes took in $481.8 million worldwide at the box office. The film sequel will hit theaters July 11th, where it was recently moved up from July 18 (see "Geek Movie News Round-up").
