The Bee and Puppycat comic from BOOM! Studios, announced last November as part of the Kickstarter for the Bee and Puppycat web series (see "'Bee and PuppyCat' Kickstarter at $475K"), has been scheduled for May, according to Comics Alliance. Bee and Puppycat is a Cartoon Hanger YouTube series. The successful Kickstarter for the web series eventually raised $872,133 last November, so there’s a lot of interest in the property.
The comic will be co-written by series creator Natasha Allegri, who has already written and drawn the Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake series for BOOM!, and Garrett Jackson. Allegri will also do the art, with colors by Allegri and Patrick Seery. The first issue will have covers by Allegri and Zac Gorman. A special Kickstarter variant cover will also be produced; it was included as a pledge premium at the $75 and above backer level, which included more than 3,000 of the 18,209 backers.
Catalyst Game Labs acquired a license from Frederator Studios last year to publish CCGs based on Bee & PuppyCat, as well as fellow Cartoon Hanger web series Bravest Warriors (see "'Bravest Warriors' and 'Bee and Puppycat' CCGs").
