Dynamite Entertainment teed up a number of announcements for Emerald City Comic Con, including a new Dresden Files, talent announcements, and three new one-shots.

Launching in June, the new ongoing comic series Dresden Files: War Cry takes place four months after the events in Dead Beat, the series 7th novel. The story finds Harry Dresden drafted into the ranks of the Wardens, and he must rescue some mortals in a small nowhere town that have been targeted by the vampires of the Red Court.  The story is co-written by Butcher and Mark Powers.  Interier art will be done by Carlos Gomez (Deadpool, Pathfinder), with main covers by Stjepan Sejic (Witchblade, Ravine). An incentive cover will also be done by Gomez.  "War Cry is one of the stories I always wanted to tell but never got the chance to in the context of the novels, and I'm extremely pleased with how well it's coming out," said Butcher.

Dynamite announced plans to publish a Doodle Jump comic based on the smartphone game back in October (see "Dynamite to Publish 'Doodle Jump' Comics"), and now they have announced Meredith Gran (Octopus Pie, Adventure Time: Marceline and the Scream Queen) and Mario Udzenija as the co-writers for the series, which will launch on June 18th.  Art will be done by Steve Uy (Avengers Initiative, JSA: Classified).  Each issue of Doodle Jump will feature a separate cover that will pay homage to a great video game from the past: for the first issue, Donkey Kong; and for the second, Q*Bert.

Another talent announcement, Gail Simone is extending her run on Red Sonja.  First announced at Emerald City Comic Con last year (see "Gail Simone on 'Red Sonja'"), Simone’s limited run has blossomed into multiple storylines, the Legends of Red Sonja 40th Anniversary miniseries (see "'Legends of Red Sonja' 40th Anniversary Miniseries"), and the Conan/Red Sonja crossover (see "Brian Wood & Gail Simone on 'Conan/Red Sonja' Crossover").  Specifics of the extension were not provided.

A trio of one-shots were also announced.  Releasing June 18th, The Twilight Zone Annual 2014 with contain three stories  written by Mark Rahner (Cthulhu Tales), drawn by Randy Valiente, Andrea Mutti and Edu Menna, with a cover by Roberto Castro (Lords of Mars).

Penned by The Sixth Gun writer Cullen Bunn, The Shadow #0 shares secrets of the Shadow's past which are revealed as he meets Houdini.

Also in June, Marc Mason will also pen the Red Sonja: Sanctuary one-shot.  Art will be done by Noah Solanga, with a cover by Sergio Fernandez Davila.
