Valiant Entertainment announced the promotion of Executive Editor Warren Simons to Editor-in-Chief.

Simons joined Valiant as Vice President—Executive Editor in 2011, after seven years at Marvel as an editor (see "Fred Pierce Back at Valiant").   During his tenure at Valiant, he has overseen the relaunch of several series, including X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot, Archer & Armstrong, Unity, and Rai among others.  As Editor-in-Chief, he will continue to preside over the daily operations of Valiant's editorial department, manage the editorial team, and continue to edit the company’s flagship series and special projects, including the "Armor Hunters" crossover event and  the Valiant First initiative (see "'Valiant First' Initiative Launches New Titles").

"Warren has played an essential part in making Valiant one of the most well-regarded and formidable publishers in the industry," said Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani.  "We're proud to have Warren playing an even bigger role."

Simons recently participated in a comprehensive ICv2 interview with other Valiant Entertainment executives discussing the company’s first three years and plans for the future (see "ICv2 Interview: Valiant Execs, Part 1").
