German company Constantin Film (Resident Evil) and Dark Horse Entertainment have announced a film adaptation of the spy thriller Polar: Came from the Cold graphic novel.
The story of a retired assassin being hunted by hitmen was written and illustrated by Spanish artist Victor Santos (Witch & Wizard, The Mice Templar). The popular webcomic was collected by Dark Horse last year (see "Dark Horse Collects Two Webcomics"). The second volume of the series Polar: Eye for an Eye will be published by Dark Horse in April 2015.
The script was written on spec by Jayson Rothwell (Malice in Wonderland, Silent Night), with Robert Kulzer and Jeremy Bolt of Constantin producing, as well as Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg. The project is currently searching for a director, since the companies would like to begin filming as soon as Spring 2015.
