Deathlok, the first Marvel Comics-based film in development at Paramount, now has a director.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lee Tamahori (Along Came A Spider, Die Another Day) will handle the directing chores on Deathlok.  Paramount has not yet announced a start date for the project and it was not listed in the Marvel Financial Report as a possible release for 2004 (see 'Marvel Releases 2004 Movie Schedule'), but the studio does have a script by Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner.

Described by the Hollywood Reporter as 'Robocop Meets The Manchurian Candidate,' Deathlok is the story of an ordinary man who is turned into a cyborg assassin, until the last vestiges of his humanity eventually triumph and send him on a mission to eliminate the scientists who experimented on him.
