Richard Bruning, who was Editor-In-Chief and Art Director for Capital Comics before joining DC Comics, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Creative Director, DC Comics & Mad Magazine.  Bruning joined DC in 1985 as an Art Director and was promoted to Design Director in 1987.  During his first tenure at DC he had a profound impact on the industry with his designs for The Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen. He left DC in 1990 to form Brainstorm Unlimited before returning in 1996 as Vice President and Creative Director.

 

Bruning plays blues harmonica and is married to Karen Berger, the EIC of DC's cutting edge Vertigo line.
