Marvel has announced that it has had to go back to press for a third edition of its Marvel Universe RPG hardcover.  When the Marvel RPG first appeared last April it was bucking two dominant trends in the world of role-playing.  First of all it was 'diceless game' and secondly it had its own system of play; it was not based on the Open Gaming License and didn't sport the d20 label.  Nevertheless both the basic Marvel Universe RPG and the X-Men supplement are sold out and heading back to press.

The quick sell-out of the basic Marvel RPG hardcover has actually delayed the release of The Guide To the Hulk & Avengers, which was originally solicited for September but which will be held back to November so that the basic RPG will be available when The Guide reaches retail.  The next supplement, Spider-Man's Guide To New York City, is set for a spring 2004 debut.
