Flush with the success of the epic 20-hour Steven Spielberg Presents Taken, the Sci-Fi Channel has embarked on another mega-project with Spielberg, writer Les Bohem, and Dreamworks Television.  The new project, known as Nine Lives, will be presented as three related but distinct miniseries events.  Nine Lives, which unfolds as an epic story of love, death, and beyond, will be written by Les Bohem, produced by Spielberg, and aired sometime in 2005.

The huge success of Taken, (see 'Viewers Taken With Taken'), which set all sorts of ratings records for the Sci-Fi Channel, has led the popular cable channel to embark on a series of projects with topflight creators including Bryan Singer (X-Men), Dean Devlin (Independence Day), and Gayle Anne Hurd (The Hulk).  Among the key projects for pop culture retailers are Bryan Singer's 4-hour re-imagining of the TV classic Battlestar Galactica, which premieres in December, 2003, and a possible series based on Marvel comic series Strikeforce Morituri (see 'Sci-Fi Channel Plans Marvel Series').
