Will Alan Moore's Watchmen ever make it to the big screen? There is no doubt that a large portion of comic fandom sincerely hopes that it will -- check out the accompanying faux movie poster created by a zealous Watchmen acolyte. This week more rumors were circulating on both movie and comic book Websites intimating that the project is alive and well at Revolution Studios, but there has been absolutely no confirmation that the project has been greenlit. Last Sunday, Ain't It Cool News ran a piece indicating that Revolution had picked up the property from Universal and that John Cusack was set to play Dan/Nite Owl. More than a year ago Ain't It Cool ran a rave review of a Watchmen script by David Hayter, who wrote X-Men, and who reportedly wants to direct as well as write the Watchmen movie. Comics Continuum contacted Hayter and asked him if there were any new developments they could report on -- and he replied 'Not yet. But soon.' Let's hope so.
