According to an article from Animation World Magazine, 4Kids Entertainment has picked up the rights to Tokyo Mew Mew, and will be adding the title to its Fox Box animation block later this year. A title change to Hollywood Mew Mew is part of the positioning for the U.S. market. Hollywood Mew Mew is part of 4Kids' strategy of broadening the appeal of its programming to include both boys and girls, according to CEO Al Kahn, who's quoted in the article. Tokyopop has been releasing the Tokyo Mew Mew manga in the U.S. for some time; the exposure for the anime, even under a different title, will undoubtedly stimulate sales on the series.
