Halloween is coming in October, and appropriately, this October will also bring four new horror titles from IDW Publishing, three by prolific horror writer Steve Niles, all announced at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con International.

30 Days of Night has already had several hit miniseries, and now IDW will release 30 Days of Night:  Bloodsucker Tales #1, the first issue of a color ongoing series featuring two stories, one written by Steve Niles and the other illustrated by Ben Templesmith.  There will be a $3.99 cover-priced regular version and a special edition signed by Niles which will sell for $19.99.

Niles will also be the writer of Lurkers, described by IDW as a 'horror-noir adventure,' which follows an L.A. detective investigating dead bodies with human bite marks.  Lurkers #1 will be 32 color pages with a $3.99 cover price.

In his third October title, Hyde, Niles takes the Jekyll and Hyde concept to a greater extreme.  Hyde #1 will be a color, 48-page book retailing for $7.49.  Hyde has already been optioned by Dimension Films to be made into a film (see 'Niles Sells Another Comic to Hollywood'), joining Niles' 30 Days of Night (see '30 Days of Night Moves Closer to the Big Screen') and Aleister Arcane (see 'Paramount Picks Up Aleister Arcane').

IDW's fourth new title for October release is a 48-page one-shot, Silent Hill:  Among the Damned, written by New York Times bestselling author and writer of the quickly sold out Silent Hill:  Dying Inside miniseries, Scott Ciencin.  Both titles are based on the Konami video game, which has sold over four million copies worldwide to date.
