It must be close to the trading deadline, because Beau Smith's highly touted 'free agency' only lasted one weekend (see 'Beau Smith Leaves McFarlane Productions').  Industry execs who were a little slow on the trigger finger shouldn't fret too much however, since the 'big guy' is still available for other marketing and writing opportunities, because his new gig as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Idea + Design Works is part time.

IDW is one of the premier comic art and graphic design studios with a client base which includes: Activision, Cartoon Network, Dimension Films, Electronic Arts, Fox Family Channel, Microsoft, Pepsi, Simon & Schuster, Upper Deck, Wildstorm, WizKids, and numerous other gilt-edged companies.

Beau will spend about half his day drumming up business for IDW and will be free to take on freelance jobs, both in marketing and writing.  He is currently writing Primate: The Sword of Darwin for Image, Xena vs. Wonder Woman for DC and Dark Horse, as well as a Darth Maul story for Dark Horse.
