Confirming a story that ICv2 broke three weeks ago on August 10th, Marvel Comics announced today that Diamond Book Distributors will become the exclusive distributor of Marvel books and graphic novels to the book trade starting October 1st. The three-year agreement, which expires on October 1, 2007 ends two years during which CDS distributed Marvel to bookstores (see 'Marvel to Move Book Distribution to Diamond'). In 2002 Marvel dropped Diamond in favor of CDS, so today's announcement brings Marvel back to Diamond, which is also Marvel's exclusive distributor to comic book shops.
