America Online's RED Service, which is geared for teens, is promoting the Graphic-Sha How to Draw Manga series through its Comics & Anime screen.  Each week the site will feature a different How to Draw Manga book, showing sample pages and inviting subscribers to submit their efforts at following the sampled guides.  AOL's RED Service will highlight comic book shops as a destination for these products, which makes this promotion a real opportunity for pop culture retailers.

Since introducing the Graphic-Sha series in the 1990s, Diamond has sold over one million copies of the English language editions of the more than 40 books in the series.  Even retailers who don't carry manga should seriously consider bringing in at least the basic Graphic-Sha How to Draw Manga titles, and those who do carry the books should make sure they are in stock during this AOL promotion.
