Twentieth Century Fox's Elektra, starring Jennifer Garner as the shapely sai enthusiast and assassin for hire, is scheduled to open wide on January 14th, a little more than a month after the release of the next Marvel movie, New Line's Blade: Trinity, on December 8th.  Elektra, which was originally set for a President's Day debut (see 'Marvel Movie Report'), has been moved up in part to take advantage of the heat generated by Jennifer Garner, whose romance with Ben Affleck has kept her in the media spotlight.

Elektra begins as the eponymous heroine, who was apparently killed in Fox's 2003 Daredevil, is revived by the sinister Order of the Hand and assigned to kill a man and his 13-year-old daughter.  Expect plenty of martial arts action as Elektra eventually turns against Kirigi, the leader of the Order of the Hand, and has to take on his formidable quartet of fighters including Tengu and Typhoid.
