Image Comics is planning a January release for the first book in a four-issue all-ages mini-series, Lions, Tigers and Bears from creator Mike Bullock of Runemaster Studios.   With pencils from Runemaster's Jack Lawrence, Lions, Tigers and Bears is a stuffed animal saga that critics have dubbed Monsters Inc. meets The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. 

The protagonist of the mini series is young Joey Price who discovers that some of the things that go bump in the night aren't just figments of his imagination.  It seems that some monstrous Beasties spend every night trying to 'get' little children, but fortunately for Joey his plush playthings have the right 'stuff' to beat back the Beasties, though he must undertake an eventful journey through the Stuffed Animal Kingdom in order to defeat his tormentors.  The first issue of this timeless saga will be listed in the November issue of Diamond's Previews.
