Dark Horse Comics is releasing a 24-page full color Wolfwood comic, which will retail for just 25-cents.  Based on the popular Trigun anime series, long a staple of the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, the full color, right-to-left reading comic focuses on Wolfwood, one of the two most prominent characters in the Trigun saga where he plays the foil to the red-clad hero, Vash the Stampede.  With his rampant cynicism, priestly garb and giant cross-like gun Wolfwood is a key player in the offbeat Trigun anime.

Dark Horse hopes that the special introductory 25-cent issue will serve as an outreach tool for comic shops looking to attract young fans.  Enterprising retailers can use it at movie theaters, video stores and local anime shops (or clubs).  The art, which is taken directly from the Trigun animation cels, should have a strong appeal to anime fans and the promo comic, which will be available on February 9, raises key questions about the relationship between Wolfwood and Vash that will be answered in Volume 2 of Dark Horse's Trigun Anime Manga series, which streets on February 23.
