Dark Horse Comics has quietly reduced its staff by about ten percent over the last sixty days. The highest-ranking staffer cut was Director of Production and Design Cindy Marks, a fifteen-year veteran of the industry with six and a half years in at Dark Horse. There were six total cuts out of a staff of around sixty-five. The move was taken in response to a generally poor market for new comics, its primary product line. Star Wars, the company's largest property is between movies and there have not been any major licensed hits -- the bread and butter of the Dark Horse line--to take its place.
