Tokyopop announced that it will release the Devil May Cry 3 manga in the States, based on the goth Capcom videogame series. The manga is created by Suguro Chayamachi (Aza and Aka no Genyuugi). Release date for the single volume is slated for October.
Tokyopop has also announced four new American manga, expanding its line-up of indigenously created works. War on Flesh!, due out in September, is by Justin Boring and Greg Hildebrandt, with art by Tim Smith. Set in
I Luv Halloween, by Keith Giffen and Benjamin Roman, is a story of a trick-or-treaters whack pack that excel at tricks if they don't get what they want. The first volume will be released in October, the second for the holidays.
Off*Beat, by Jen Quick, will be released in September. It's the story of a high school boy who becomes interested in a new classmate that moves in across the street.
Tokyopop has also announced that its Rising Stars of Manga competition, which offers new manga creators an opportunity to get their work published, will become an annual event beginning with #6, which will run from July through January 15th. The anthology will be published next summer.
And Tokyopop has also announced the release date for its Samurai Champloo manga (see 'Tokyopop Announces Samurai Champloo Manga'); the first volume will be released in November.
