Platinum Studios' Scott Mitchell Rosenberg and Gale Anne Hurd  (The Hulk, Aeon Flux) of Valhalla Motion Pictures have announced that they are developing Top Cow's Magdalena comic book as a feature film.  Kevin Taft, who recently signed a deal to script Alone for New Line Cinema, has been hired to write the screenplay.

The movie Magdalena appears to be based on the second Top Cow Magdalena mini-series (from 2003) written by Brian Holguin.  Variety called the proposed film a 'faith-based feature' and the producers are clearly playing The Da Vinci Code angle (the comic book Magdalena is part of a lineage of female warriors descended from Mary Magdalene) for all it's worth.

Platinum Studios has placed another Top Cow property, The Darkness at Dimension Studios and recently had another graphic novel property optioned for a TV series (see 'NBC Options Meet the Haunteds').
