Dark Horse has cancelled the monthly Space Pinchy comic books that were solicited in the October, November, December and January issues of Diamond's Previews.  Dark Horse has decided to publish manga-ka Tony Takezaki's sexy, wacked-out space manga in the trade paperback format, rather than as a color monthly comic.  Dark Horse, which was one of the first American manga publishers, puts out most of its manga releases in the original Japanese tankoubon graphic novel format, but still publishes Hiroaki Samura's Blade of the Immortal as a 32-page monthly.

Unlike Blade of the Immortal, which is in black-and-white, Space Pinchy was announced as a full color book.  Space Pinchy travels the galaxy in a skintight suit trying to recover the treasures of her lost race and fend off the advances of alien perverts in an erotically tinged narrative that uses just about every innuendo in the book.  The Space Pinchy comic book series was rated for 'Mature Readers,' but so far it is not known whether the Space Pinchy trade will be rated 18+ and shrink-wrapped, or when Dark Horse will solicit the first volume.
