Score announced at the GAMA Trade Show that it would be adding Tekken 5 to its Epic Battles TCG in a June release of Tekken 5 Starters ($11.99, 60 cards) and Boosters ($3.29, 10 cards). Boosters will include eight commons and two rares, with randomly inserted ultra- and hidden rares. The set consists of 193 cards, and will include two new types of move cards, 'Launchers' and 'Knockdowns.'
The initial release in the Epic Battles TCG, which featured Streetfighter and Mortal Kombat characters, was a Blockbuster exclusive (see 'Score's Epic Battles TCG'). According to a Score spokesperson, Blockbuster approached Score about making the TCG after obtaining the TCG license for the Streetfighter property, under the condition that the Streetfighter cards be available exclusively at Blockbuster. Under the terms of the agreement, Score will make all future releases featuring other videogame characters available through all channels; the Streetfighter property will continue to be exclusive to Blockbuster. Blockbuster will be shipped future Epic Battles releases at the same time as other channels are shipped.
