The Bryan Singer-helmed pic moved up in release to create a 7-day opening weekend, when combined with the 4th of July holiday that lands on a Tuesday this year. Talk of 10 p.m. and midnight showings on June 27th could expand the weekend even longer.
This move also gives the film an extra two days before Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest hits.
Warner hesitated on changing the date, because of issues relating to the 3-D IMAX release (see ''Supes' Goes 3-D). These have since been resolved.
