Javier Grillo-Marxuach, who has written for the Emmy-winning series Lost and a host of other TV series, will pen a four-issue Cylon Apocalypse mini-series, which Dynamic Forces will release in 2007 as part of the publisher's Classic Battlestar Galactica line of comic books. Grillo-Marxuach is a big fan of both the original and modern Battlestar Galactica TV series, and he plans to include a wide range of original series characters in the Cylon Apocalypse story arc, which Dynamite plans to release in early 2007.
Not only are comic books now attractive properties for movie studios to acquire, increasingly novelists and movie and TV writers have been drawn to high profile comic book writing assignments, though Cylon Apocalypse is hardly Grillo-Marxuach's first foray into comics -- he wrote Annihilation: Super Skrull for Marvel and The Middleman for Viper Comics.
