Marvel has announced that New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will write the foreword for A Moment of Silence, its upcoming collection of four stories based on real-life events from the September 11 attacks on the U.S..  A Moment of Silence will be released January 9th at an MSRP of $3.50.  Marvel's proceeds from the book will be donated to The Twin Towers Fund.

This is only the latest in  a series of 9/11-related projects from Marvel.  Heroes, its first tribute/benefit book, will generate in excess of $1 million at retail (see 'Heroes Will Hit $1 Million...').  And Amazing Spider-Man #36 was a quick sell-out and is being repackaged into a Marvel Must-Have book (see 'No Stand-Alone Reprint for Amazing....').  Marvel said that its 9/11 projects have already generated over $700,000 in contributions for The Twin Towers Fund.
