Tenacious Games is providing free prize support for stores running events for The Spoils, according to CEO Scott Dodson.  Prize support, the equivalent of 1.5 packs for each player in the event, are provided gratis to the retailer, allowing the retailer to keep the entry fees paid by the players.

This structure helps retailers support the cost of running organized play events, according to Dodson, preventing the situation where the retailer provides support for in-store gaming but eats up the revenues from the event with prize costs, and sometimes loses sales on the product to online retailers.

Tenacious will also be following up its successful Open Beta demo program (see 'The Spoils Launches Strong') with a Post-Beta Demo Kit, which will be avialable through distributors.  According to James Chott, Manager--Special Projects at Tenacious, it will include 'enough free product to run an in-store tournament for six players, along with Pre-Con Trade decks for continued in-store demos.'
