WizKids has announced a special tournament event, Pirates at Ocean's Edge: On the Rocks, which will be held at participating retail outlets from May 25th through June 10th to celebrate the recently released Pirates at Ocean's Edge, the ninth expansion for the Pirates CSG.  The event is the first Pirates tournament that is based on a specific Pirates scenario.  In the special sealed On the Rocks tournament a three-masted Longship is placed in the play area and can attack any ship that comes within range.  Players win by having the last ship afloat or the most points after 60 minutes of play.  The player who is in control of the Longship at the end of the game or was in command of it when it was sunk, gets to keep the ship.

WizKids is putting on the On the Rocks event in cooperation with Alliance Game Distributors, Diamond Comic Distributors and Gale Force Nine.  WizKids is offering a prize package to retailers as well as to gamers.  One lucky retailer will receive a Grand Prize package that includes a special 3D Pirates game table.  Retailers can register their stores and become eligible to host Pirates organized play events by contacting WizKids via the company Website.
