Rapid POD Publishing announced plans to release its Monster Tykes collectable card game featuring young and lighthearted monster and hero characters.  The game is targeted to boys and girls ages 8 and up and teams win when the other team is sent home 'crying to their mommies.' 

 

The game ships mid-June and is launching with Monster Tykes Starter Box for $19.99 retail and  12-card Boosters for $3.99 retail. Each pack is themed 'naughty' or 'nice' and includes two Tykes, two Tyke specific cards and eight random common cards.  Expansions are planned for September (Calling All Cooties), December (Goonie Adventures), and February 2008 (Olly Olly Oxen Free).

 

Rapid POD is offering card customization for both stores and players. Stores can request up to 50 of the card designed for their store.  Retailers can also purchase a four-week league program pack from distributors that comes with rules, two booster boxes and a set of unique cards for prizes. The packs support eight players, and retailers are limited to two per month.

 

Advertising will support the launch.  Rapid POD will also have posters, demo packs, and fliers and will hold demos at Origins, Gen Con and Dragon Con.
