In June Mayfair Games is releasing Toledo ($49.00), an elaborate board game, set in the impossibly picturesque Spanish city during the year 1600, in which players attempt to forge magnificent swords and deliver them to the Emperor.  Players travel the hilly streets of the city where they can visit the studio of the great painter El Greco and the city's shops where they compete to acquire the best steel and gems as well as the services of the finest swordsmiths in order to create the most magnificent set of weapons.  But Toledo is a dangerous place and they may have to engage in duels to protect their honor.

Designed by Martin Wallace, Toledo is an intricate, but easy-to-learn casual, social board game for 2-4 players ages 10 and up. Playing time averages 60 to 90 minutes.  The deluxe Toledo board game includes a lavishly illustrated game board (by Jo Hartwig), 20 wooden swordsmen, 90 cards, 32 business tiles, 16 swordsman skill tiles, 19 sword tiles, 23 steel counters, 20 gems, 6 art cards (all by El Greco), and one set of rules.
