One last-minute addition to the Fantasy Flight Games booth at GAMA Trade Show was the space given to an upcoming miniatures game based in Paolo Parente’s Dust universe.  The Dust Tactics Miniatures Game will use the AT-43 rule-set, licensed from Rackham, and co-designed by Dust creator Parente (see “An X-Mas Debut for Rackham’s AT-43”).

The Dust storyline takes place in an alternate 1950s earth with science fiction elements, in which the Germans found an alien spacecraft in Antarctica, injecting new technology into the mid-20th century. The initial Dust Tactics release, planned for November, will consist of three unit boxes, one for each of the three armies in the storyline:  Sino-Soviets, Axis, and Allies. Each box will contain six figures, plus one robot and a playmat.  A separate Rulebook will also be available in November.

Monthly releases for each army are planned.

The Dust property is getting more exposure across categories.  The Dust boardgame sold out its first run quickly.  The first Image comic series will be collected and released as a trade paperback in July.  And in August, a new comic miniseries, with stories by mink and Parente, and art by Parente, will launch from Image.
