Fantasy Flight Games has announced that Set 12 of its UFS CCG will be shipping in April.  Set 12 includes both starters and boosters for Soul Calibur IV: Tower of Souls and ShadoWar, a new IP which was created specifically for the UFS system (see “Sabertooth’s Adds ShadoWar to UFS”).

Retailers interested in hosting pre-release events can order Pre-Release Kits, which include 1 ShadoWar Starter Display, 1 Soul Calibur IV: Tower of Souls Starter Display, 3 ShadoWar Booster Displays, 3 Soul Calibur IV: Tower of Souls boosters plus 8 ShadoWar promo cards, 8 Soul Calibur IV: Tower of Souls promo cards, and 8 ShadoWar play mats, from their distributors (see “FFG Changes UFS Pre-Releases”) as well as directly from FFG.  Orders need to be received by FFG by March 27th to insure on-time delivery of the kits.

UFS Set 12 is the first designed by new UFS designer and current world champion James Hata.  Hata’s Soul Calibur IV: Tower of Souls Expansion adds new versions of Ivy, Nightmare, Siegfried, and five other characters from the hit video game.  As a 144-card base set, it takes the game back to its roots and creates an ideal starting point for new players.  The Soul Calibur IV: Tower of Souls 60-card starter decks feature the iconic characters Ivy, Siegfried, Cervantes, and Nightmare.

ShadoWar is the first proprietary product for the UFS system.  Hata has designed the 144-card ShadoWar set to appeal to current players as well as fans of action and high fantasy.  The four ShadoWar 60-card starter decks are an ideal starting point for new players, and they contain starter-only rares that competitive players will want.
