One of Bucephalus Games’ strongest releases before the end of the year is the curiously titled Oh My God! There’s an Axe In My Head! Players in Axe take on the roles of diplomats in the League of Nations, trying to negotiate treaties and agreements with other dignitaries while avoiding the rampage of an axe-juggling troupe gone bad. The $49.99 board game combines diplomacy, abstract strategy, and fast-paced combat and comes out in October.

Other Bucephalus releases slated for late 2009 include Dogfight, The Duke, and Art of War, part of the company’s deluxe “Wood Line,” meaning the pieces and board are crafted of wood and metal (all have an MSRP of $49.99.).

Buecphalus is also remaking the Origins-Award-nominated Dwarven Dig!, down to $39.99 from the $49.99 it sold for from Kenzer.  The Bucephalus version goes up to six players (vs. four in the old version), has higher quality tiles, and adds two new tile types.

These new releases will join the recently released card game Timestreams (see “Launch Kits for Bucephalus’s ‘Timestreams’”) and tile-laying game Kachina in the Bucephalus catalog.
